Australian investment helps this Indonesian mall use solar power

Jakarta Globe – June 6, 2024

Jakarta Globe reports Australia has helped an Indonesian energy firm, Hijau, install solar panels on the rooftop of Lippo Mall Cikarang, through impact investment fund-of-funds Australian Development Investments.

Solar panels reduce the mall’s reliance on coal-based electricity by generating renewable energy.

The installation not only cuts greenhouse gas emissions but also lowers the mall’s electricity costs and supports Indonesia’s broader shift toward clean energy.

The project highlights how international partnerships—like this Australian support—can accelerate the adoption of sustainable infrastructure in commercial buildings, contributing to Indonesia’s goals for greener, more affordable power.
