ABOUT KINETIK

KINETIK, the Australia–Indonesia Climate and Sustainable Infrastructure Partnership, is a flagship AUD 600 million partnership supporting sustainable infrastructure and climate investment in Indonesia over the next 10 years.

The partnership works with the Government of Indonesia, multilateral development banks and public and private sector partners to mobilise investment in sustainable infrastructure. It also provides technical assistance and project preparation support across the priority sectors of energy, water, sanitation, waste management and sustainable transport.

KINETIK focuses on three key areas:

  • Climate resilience – Partnering with communities and preparing infrastructure for a changing climate.
  • Innovative financing – Mobilising public, private and climate finance to accelerate investment.
  • Sustainable infrastructure – Supporting the development of sustainable infrastructure in energy, water, sanitation, waste management and sustainable transport.

Two priorities underpin all KINETIK activities:

  • Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) – Ensuring women, people with disabilities and marginalised groups benefit from sustainable infrastructure and climate investment.
  • Digitalisation, AI and Automation – Promoting digital technologies, data and innovation to improve infrastructure planning, financing and delivery.

KINETIK builds on the achievements of earlier Australia–Indonesia partnerships, including the Indonesia–Australia Partnership for Infrastructure (KIAT), the Australia–Indonesia Partnership for Climate, Renewable Energy and Infrastructure (KINETIK), and the Asian Development Bank-delivered Sustainable Infrastructure Assistance Program (SIAP2).

KINETIK is supported by the Australian Government and implemented by DT Global.
