Objective
The overarching objective of the course is to equip PT SMI and MoF BKF staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex landscape of carbon financing and climate financing through blended finance.
Purpose
For PT SMI, enhancing its internal capacity will enable it to integrate sustainability into its investment decisions better, manage ESG risks, and capitalize on emerging carbon finance opportunities. Capacity building in these areas will empower PT SMI to not only meet its financial and sustainability objectives but also to play a pivotal role in supporting Indonesia’s broader climate finance ecosystem.
For MoF BKF, the capacity building will add value to enhance their policymaking and regulatory functions related to climate finance and carbon pricing mechanisms. Having MoF BKF in the same forum with PT SMI will also allow the exchange of knowledge and align priority agendas.
Summary
The course will be delivered over 4 days and take place in Jakarta, Indonesia. The capacity building course will involve around 25 representatives from PT SMI and 10 representatives from MoF BKF. Up to four reserves and six representatives, collectively from DFAT, Australian Treasury, and Prospera, may also join. This brings the maximum total number of participants to 45 people.
