Our vision
KINETIK is committed to supporting Indonesia’s long-term development priorities of sustainable and equitable economic growth, a boost in renewable energy investment and policy reforms to support clean energy development.
The partnership supports Indonesia’s aim to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060 or sooner, with a focus on transitioning to renewable energy sources and decarbonising key sectors such as energy, transport and land use.
KINETIK promotes a just transition in which women and people from remote communities benefit from the economic opportunities in the green economy.
Our approach
KINETIK brings together three partners: Prospera (the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Economic Development), Australian Development Investments (ADI) and Private Investment Development Group (PIDG).
The partnership supports Indonesia’s efforts to progress its sustainable finance and energy transition agenda, including by providing technical assistance and expanding government-to-government partnerships.
This builds on and expands the successful Prospera program, which partners with the Indonesian government to provide data and evidence to inform public policy on the energy transition, green economy and emerging natural capital markets.
Climate finance is a unifying theme and half of KINETIK’s funding is allocated to two blended finance mechanisms that help attract additional private sector investment.
AUD 50 million has been allocated to ADI, an Australian government-owned impact investment fund. ADI provides investment capital and technical assistance to fund managers that invest in small and medium-sized enterprises in the green economy in Indonesia.

Our activities
The first ADI investment through KINETIK was a $US8 million anchor commitment to Indonesian venture capital firm AC Ventures’ Climate Strategy.
The commitment will increase investment in renewable energy, electric vehicles, waste management and sustainable agriculture through AC Ventures and help to attract more private sector finance.
The KINETIK Sweef Entrepreneurs Program provides training to women entrepreneurs from sectors such as waste and recycling, clean technologies, renewable energy and climate mitigation.
By investing in the next generation of women entrepreneurs, KINETIK is strengthening businesses that will contribute to Indonesia’s ambitious economic growth goals.
